Due to PVC materials being used, the OEM cover is prone to wear and deterioration. Not a fatal issue, but ruins an overall aesthetics of your engine bay. GMS carbon timing belt covers weighs only 125g, which is 3x weight reduction compared to OEM part (347g). While we can not count this as a game changer in terms of lap times, we can count this as a performance upgrade. A bit of weight here, a bit of weight there and we are making an already light 4C, even lighter.
GMS timing belt cover is plug and play and uses 4x easy to reach OEM mounting points instead of 5x OEM mounting points, which makes it much easier to remove and check for timing belt condition without further dismantling the car. This part is made of 2x2 Twill 3k carbon fiber, tempered and cured to withstand high temperature environment. It's made using prepreg technic, crucial to delviering smooth and glossy finish evn in raw version already. As an option, high gloss clear coating is available as well.
Titanium hardware available as an option (4x Grade 5 Titanium hex bolts + 4x Grade 5 Titanium washers).
