GMS performance brake pads for those looking to enhance the braking performance of your Giulia and Stelvio with steel brakes. We have two compounds available, depending of the choice, suited for street or track use
ST0550 compound combines decent initial bite (0.41 Mu) on cold brakes and relatively high temperature tolerance (0.41 Mu @ 550°C). Its operating temperature range is from 0°C - 550°C, making it an ideal choice for street use. This compound is easy to modulate, provides low disc wear, has low dusting properties and performs silently. An ideal upgrade over OEM brake pads for those who don't want to run too aggressive brake pads, sacrificing low temp performance and increased disc wear, yet need a bit more stable braking performance at higher temps.
SR50650 is a pure bred racing compound, the one you choose when you have no other choice but to outbrake your opponents. It has moderate friction (0.43 Mu @ 150°C) when it reaches its operating temps, while the average friction for this compound is around 0.46 Mu, as a long as it is within its ideal operating temp range (50°C - 650°C). Higher heat resistance, now delivers maximum operating heat range up to 700°C, before braking performance decreases. This compound can be an alternate choice for fast street over ST50550, for those who often attend canyon riding and various street events with spirited driving, but in general, the SR50650 is aimed at serious track users attending track days, autoX and other HPDE events. It combines good stopping power, heat resistance and lifespan of both - discs and brake pads. The SR50650 compound is a track focused compound, so light squealing under certain conditions is to be tolerated.
While capable of multiple consequent fast laps and longer track session without brake fade, due to the weight of the Giulia Quadrifoglio, we recommend no more than 1 fast lap, followed by 1-2 cooling laps to prevent excessive wear rate of both brake discs, brake pads and tires.
